A few days ago the name of the world fame stadium "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" has been changed and the new name of it is now "Arun Jaitley Stadium". On the change of name of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" everyone felt shocked as the new name of the stadium is not on the same level of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium". The name "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" had been given after the name of "Ferozshah Tughlaq" who ruled Delhi during 1351 AD to 1388 AD. His kingdom is known as a welfare state as he give attentions on providing facilities to his citizens. FEROZABAD and JAUNPUR cities has been established by him. The other praiseworthy work of Tughlaq were that he has cancelled the all taxes imposed by Ex- rulers and he himself had not imposed any tax on his citizens. Perhaps the name of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" would have been given because of his welfare deeds by the British rulers in 1883. Now the name of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" will become a part of history. Infact the name of "Arun Jaitley Stadium" in comparison of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" is pygmy. Everyone know that Arun Jaitley was not a such leader who is known for his welfare deeds. Inspite of this he is known for his work of Anti-people's interest like his policy of Goods & Services Tax (GST) which ruined the business of whole traders and small businessmen of the country. In addition to it he had no contribution in the field of cricket or any other games. On the other hand when he held the post of Chairman of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) during his 15 years tenure, he was alleged of having been involved in corruptions like irregularities in the fund of DDCA, illegal construction in the stadium and mismanagement. Though, he was given clean chit by the High Court in these matters. He was never known as a popular leader of the country. So, naming the "Arun Jaitley Stadium" in place of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" by the government is not a good act. It also shows the narrowmindedness of the government.
Otherwise there are many very reputed Cricketers whose contribution in the field of Cricket are unforgettable, Such as Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev. Not only Cricket fans but the common people will always remember these Cricketers pronunciate their names with respect.
The contribution of Nawab Pataudi in the field of Cricket are not limited. He is remembered as the first youngest Indian captain and the second youngest captain of the world, he played cricket despite he had lost his right side eye and added a number of achievement in his career.
Sunil Gavaskar is a tall name in Cricket. His achievements in the field of Cricket will be always remembered. He has established the record of 100 catches.
While India won the first World Cup Trophy in 1984 when Kapil Dev was captain of the Indian Cricket Team.
If the Government would have been changed the name of "Ferozshah Kotla Stadium" with the name of these Master Cricketers, the cricket fans and the common people would feel joyful.
